The beginning of my story is very simple. As a teenager I looked at my family albums for the first time. To witness my own
history through those imperfect but honest pictures had a great influence on me. And so one day my brother showed me
the magic of developing photos. I remember this as if it was yesterday. A white sheet of paper in a liquid with an image
appearing on it...This was unforgettable experience and is still as exciting to me now as it was when I saw it for the first time.
This persistent sense of excitement is why I have chosen to work with traditional methods, coupled with my strong belief
that analogue images have a unique and very sensual quality. The way that light transfers from the photographed object onto
photosensitive material can be compared to a fingerprint - something exceptional and unrepeatable.
The limitation of two colours, black and white, is also advantageous from my point of view. This allows me to concentrate
deeply on other aspects such as the content and form of the picture.
Mystery and the undefined are the elements I most treasure in my works. My goal is to capture elusive moments and share
them without judgement. I don't want to learn the secrets of my subjects.
